A few weeks ago, Walt Disney World shared the official poster and a first look at the highly anticipated new immersive experience, Star wars: Galactic Star Cruiser.
Now, Disney has revealed a first look at how the bridge of the Alcyon Starcruiser will be looking for guests staying at the new Disney Parks addition when it opens next year.
Star wars: Galactic Starcruiser has been confirmed to open next year on March 1, with reservations opening this year on October 28. The new vacation experience will debut midway through Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, or “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” which begins October 1.
What is Star wars: Galactic Cruiser?
From the Disney Parks blog:
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a one-of-a-kind vacation experience that goes beyond anything Disney has created before. You’ll become the hero of your own Star Wars story during this two-night adventure, traveling the galaxy in style aboard the Halcyon cruiser and eventually heading to the Outer Rim for a planetary excursion to Batuu.
You choose how to fight your way through the galaxy – perhaps as a member of the Resistance, or by learning the ancient ways of the Jedi lightsaber. Maybe you prefer loyalty to the First Order or the thrill of living like a smuggler? The decisions are yours.
Now, despite extremely detailed concept artwork and first-look footage released earlier this year, Disney has revealed a glimpse of what visitors to Disney World can expect from the Bridge of the Alcyon will look like courtesy of the executive producer and creative director of Star wars: Galactic Cruiser, Ann Morrow Johnson.
You can see from the pictures that the actual version of the bridge controls look remarkably similar to the previously published artist renderings. Another great example of Disney Imagineering.
The Star wars: Galactic Starcruiser will make Lucasfilm’s game even better Star wars imprint at Walt Disney World Resort, joining Star wars: Galaxy’s Edge as a place of union of the Jedi and resistance to the First Order.
This Galactic Starcruiser news comes just a week after Disney World suspended the virtual queue for its popular attraction, Star wars: Rise of the Resistance, which launches a queue in its place for the first time since the ride opened in 2019.
