Monday August 9

Hear from a world-renowned expert on the cutting edge of brain science

Time: 3 pm-4:30pm

Neuroscientist and neuroethicist Professor James Giordano of Georgetown University Medical Center talks about new developments in brain research.

Tuesday August 10

Learn to become an Energy Masters volunteer
Rockland’s Barbecue and Grill (3471 Washington Blvd.)
Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

This program teaches volunteers how to fix air leaks in homes and make basic energy and water efficiency improvements.

Wednesday August 11

Camp summer house: Jamboree with campfire
National Landing’s Gateway Green (101 12th Street S.)
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

S’mores and Kona Ice snow cones will be available at this campfire event along with games such as archery, corn hole, and badminton.

Wes Anderson movie nights at Westpost
Westpost, formerly Pentagon Row (1201 S. Joyce Street)
Time: 8 p.m.-11 p.m.

Westpost shows Wes Anderson’s Aquatic life on the big screen. Tickets are free.

Thursday August 12

Breakfast Connection: Education Focus
Time: 7:45 am-9am

Dr. Francisco Durán, Superintendent of Arlington Public Schools, will be the guest speaker at this networking event.

A look back at creativity: the great resignation
Time: noon to 12:45 p.m.

This event will include a short panel followed by an open discussion on issues related to talent retention in the workplace.

Friday August 13

Magie de l’ordinaire – National exhibition with jury at the Underground Gallery in August
Underground gallery (2100 Crystal Drive)
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Magic of the Ordinary is a gallery of works of art selected by watercolor artist Lois Wolford. The art focuses on everyday objects and scenes that are often overlooked.
